Mission Statement
The City of Bethlehem Water Rescue Team consists of 20 members of the Bethlehem Fire Department. These members have all been trained in Water Rescue Emergency Response, and Emergency Boat Operations/Rescue. The city has 208 acres of water including the Lehigh River, Lehigh Canal, Monocacy, and Saucon Creeks. The team is responsible for the rescue or recovery of persons involved in waterway accidents within the city limits, and if needed, in our neighboring towns. These include, but are not limited to, recreation incidents and water related incidents (flooding).
Remember, follow all boating safety rules and wear your PFD’s (Personal Flotation Devices).
